ELECTRIC GT CHAMPIONSHIP CONFIRMS OMP AS OFFICIAL SAFETY PARTNER
Electric GT (EGT) Championship, the first ever 100% zero emissions GT championship, today confirms that OMP will become the series’ official supplier of safety equipment.
OMP is a world-leading brand in the design and production of high-quality motorsport accessories and has over 40 years of experience across all fields from Formula One to IndyCar, touring cars and rallying. Their extensive range of products including: overalls, race seats, roll-cages, seatbelts, shoes and fire extinguishers, have been honed and developed by the very best names in the sport, such as Michael Schumacher, Ayrton Senna and Sébastien Ogier.
The pioneers of the world’s smallest fire extinguisher, OMP becomes the second key partner of the EGT Championship, which will commence in 2017 with 20 identical raceprepared Tesla Model S version P85+ cars running on Pirelli tyres.
The series aims to combine exciting racing with an environmentally friendly ethos. The EGT Championship will travel to seven permanent European circuits including the Nürburgring (Germany), Circuit Paul Ricard (France) and Circuit de BarcelonaCatalunya (Spain), as well as hosting three non-championship race events in the Americas.

The first race spec Tesla is presently in the final stages of development and will start an extensive test programme in the coming weeks
